passwords that you will remember and make other desired changes.
Errmm... I don't know how to say this any more simply:
Start the computer and when you get the Welcome Screen (assuming that
you don't have the classic logon box already), press the three keys
Ctrl-Alt-Del in a rolling motion twice. This will bring up the classic
logon box. Type in Administrator and the password. Obviously if you
already have the classic logon box you only need to type in
Administrator and the password.
If you are really using the built-in Administrator account and not just
another account with administrative privileges (for which you've
forgotten the password) then you'll need to use the Linux program
NTpasswd to change the Administrator password to a blank.
If you didn't follow this - and I really mean no disrespect and I don't
want to hurt your feelings - take the machine to a professional
computer repair person (not your local version of BigStoreUSA). It will
take less than 5 minutes for the pro to get into your Administrator
account. In order to use NTpasswd, you'd need to be able to download
it, burn the .iso to cd, possibly change your computer to boot from the
optical drive, and boot/use NTpasswd. This is actually a very easy
process, but... well.
