I'm trying to create a password reset disk using the Forgotten Password
Wizard. When I get to the screen that says "I want to create a password key
disk in the following drive, C,D & E is not listed, but other removable
drives are (Card readers). How do I get it to reconize the Burner cd\dvd
drive (E). I donot have an A drive. Most new computers now days dont come
with one

reguardless if its beta, still didn't fix problem, as suggested by MS

MS never suggested that you load the SP3 Release Candidate to fix a
problem. Never.

You won't be able to use a CD with the Forgotten Password wizard. Your only
options are a floppy disk, USB flash drive, ZIP drive, or memory cards.

If you're determined to use a CD to reset a password you could use one of these
bootable CDs.

Offline NT Password & Registry Editor
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

Ultimate Boot CD for Windows®
http://www.ubcd4win.com/howto.htm

Keep in mind that if you're running XP Pro and used EFS to encrypt any files,
resetting the password using this method will result in those files being
inaccessible.

Good luck

Time to work on those reading and comprehension skills, Uncle Grumpy. That's not
what I said.

I quoted it all, just left out the URLs for bootable CD.

I said he couldn't use a CD with the Forgotten Password wizard. I never said he
couldn't use a CD to reset a password.

I said he couldn't use a CD with the Forgotten Password wizard. I never said he
couldn't use a CD to reset a password.

How would he use a CD to "reset" a password?
