Forcing Word to keep certain formatting

Is there a way to force Word 2007 to stick to a certain font face,
size and Line spacing: Single, Spacing before: 0 pt and Spacing after:
0 pt throughout the whole document? I find it really annoying to see
that Word has suddenly changed them in the middle of doing nothing.

Modify the "Normal" style to reflect the settings you want and make sure you
apply them to new documents based on this template. Right-click on the Normal
style on the Home tab and use the Format button on the bottom left to select
the settings for the paragraph spacing. Hope this helps.
