Forcing UPnP Discovery...

How do I force Windows to search for all UPnP devices on
my network? I installed a damn patch yesterday (A MS
update for IE) and all of my UPnP devices disappeared and
will not come back, even if I unplug my machine and plug
it back in (the network cable that is). The machine can
still access my UPnP devices like normal (starting Outlook
Express opens two ports for msmsgs on my router's UPnP
page), but the device is no longer displayed under "My
Network Places/Properties", so I can no longer open and
close ports on the fly. This shuts down my entire network
for up to 45min at a time because to open a port manually,
not only does it stay open permanently (back-doors), but
my IP address changes when the router reboots, and I have
to update my hostname information. This isn't working. I
need to purge all UPnP devices that the coputer knows
about so when it finds them again it'll display them, I
need to force a UPnP search (yes, UPnP stuff is
installed), or I need to force Windows to display what it
KNOWS is there. How do I do this?

It doesn't give an answer (surprise, surprise) but it may
be an indication of the cause!

Hi again Sephiroth
The following may help you as you like uPnP. Its a free toolkit from Intel
and includes a uPnP device sniffer application.
I know it doesn't solve your immediate problem but it should prove useful
sometime.
