Force Driver uninstall

I have installed a canon printer driver for a usb device.
But I think the installation went wrong. I have now
uninstalled the driver. How can I ensure that all traces
of the driver have been removed?

I think the printer might be attached to the Windows usb
driver. How can I check this?
