Well, you could do your own search at Microsoft's support knowledgebase
site.

- Go to http://support.microsoft.com/
- Advanced search.
- Select "Windows XP" for the product.
- Search on "in-place upgrade" (exact phrase).

Since you disconnected this post from whatever thread you were
previously discussing your problem (i.e., you started a new thread
rather than bump up the older one with a new post), you'll have to
select which method described in the KB article applies best to your
situation.
