No, because XP does not sit on top of DOS the way the 9x products did.
So if you have MS-DOS installed on your PC and you wish to start Windows XP
you just reboot and select XP from your boot menu (which you will have if
you are dual or multi booting)

Can you explain your scenario so that we may better understand what you are
trying to do and help you in a more appropriate manner.

I believe you can use the recovery console to repair the boot record.
You boot from the XP CD for this.

Thanx Mike

I was dual booting win98se and XP on two partitions of the same hard drive.
I had problems and was forced to reinstall 98se not realising I would loose
the boot select option at startup!!
So I now have both operating systems as they were before but need to be able
to reconstruct the OS boot options. Is there a way??
I don't really want to have to reinstall XP if not necessary.
