Run the Windows XP Product Key Validation Assistant
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/howtotell/ww/windows/default.mspx

If you are getting the following error message when attempting to update to SP1:

Error Message: The Product Key Used to Install Windows Is Invalid
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;326904&Product=winxp

You'll have to purchase a new "Full Version" of Windows XP Professional
and perform a "Repair Install" using the new Windows XP Pro CD and Product Key
that comes with it. (You cannot simply change the Product Key)

Have you downloaded the WPA patches from the MS critical update site?
Are all your machines running XP? (Win2000 and below do not support
WPA.)

Be very sure you are typing it right, and that it is the 25
alpah-numerics in groups of five - not the numeric Product ID code.

It is very easy indeed to confuse G and 6, as well as B - 8 and the more
obvious S - 5 and Z - 2

And do not have Caps lock on when typing it in
