Footnote problems

Jeff

Hi,

I am having footnote problems. This is a text originally written in
WordPerfect for DOS that I converted into Word 97. I've corrected all the
conversion problems that developed but this footnote problem I can find no
way to correct.

The problem is that some footnotes appear on the page that follows the text
where their footnote reference lies. This seems to be the case when these
footnote references are in the last paragraph of a page. Most of the
footnotes appear correctly, so this only affects a few footnotes. Besides
appearing on the following page I seem to have a number of pages where the
text only fills half the available page space leaving blank space that has
added 3 extra pages to a 42 page chapter.

Is there some way to control where the footnote text prints out? How do I
correct this problem. I've looked all through help without success.

Thank you.

.
I had trouble with footnotes too. Not your exact
problem, but I found them quite difficult to set up. Just
plain set up. I will become this message board's worst
enemy if someone doesn't help me. And Jeff, if you tried
converting something from WordPerfect, there's your
problem. Microsoft made sure that other programs are not
compatible so everything, everywhere would HAVE to be
Microsoft.

Make sure your link isn't including the period at the end of the line (make
it end with ".htm"). I just pulled the page up, no problem.
