Is it possible to be able to return to previosly used fonts without setting
one as the default?
Is there any type of preference for this in Word 2003 or in 2007?

Ok What I mean is this....
I use alot of different fonts, and like to revert back to my "previously
used" one instead of always having to go through the list of fonts to select.
I realize the
recently used ones are top on the list but was wondering if there is any
preference for "returning to previously used font" without always needing to
change the default font or going to the list at all.

If you mean you apply a font, then change your mind, CTRL+Z will undo the
change. Otherwise you will have to apply fonts or styles as appropriate.

There's no facility in the program that "remembers" what formatting was
applied to certain content "once upon a time" and provides the ability to
revert to that formatting at will sometime in the future - at least nothing
with any degree of stability

I won't even guess - or ask - why you find it useful to repeatedly reformat
content in your docs, but if you have a valid reason to do so it might help
to use Styles rather than making direct changes... At least it may be easier
to remember what formatting Style was previously used so you can more
readily reapply it.

If you aren't familiar with the use of Styles (Character as well as
Paragraph Styles) have a look in Word Help. Post back with any questions.

If the "previously used" one is the font defined as part of the style, then
selecting the text and pressing Ctrl+Spacebar will do the trick.
