Font Size in Windows Mail

R

ravenfire

How can I change it so that I can use Font Size 11 in my windows mail when
creating a new email. It seems to let me set it in the fonts but then when
an email is opened it has a 10 option or the 12 option which means my
signature is coming out as a 10 instead of an 11 as well

Thanks

You should be able to set the font size under Tools | Options | Compose for
HTML messages. The font size for plain text messages is dictated by Tools |
Options | Read | Fonts.

What a coincidence Stephen L. : yesterday evening I surfed on your OEhelp
website to find an info . . . I did not find (and visited Pickering,
Majik's sites also). I remember your name/help on stationery groups 4-5
years ago . . . When I saw your name, I jump on the opportunity hoping
you could help me.

Two days ago, I bought a new computer with Windows Vista. I am getting
ajusted and trying to find my way with patience. Do you know what could be
done/fixed, so images, music and other stuff would embed in the source of a
stationery with html script codes ? I've been reading here and there,
without success. Any idea ?

Thank you very much.

Hi La Divine,

It will work just as in OE. You have to put WinMail into the Internet zone
(Tools | Options | Security) to enable scripts to work. Then you have to
include pictures with messages under Tools | Options | Send | HTML settings.

Otherwise its not so different than OE, except there are some neat tricks
one can do. <VBG>

Sorry, most of the fonts available when composing a HTML email
do not have size 11. You will have to choose between 10 and 12.

Hello Stephen,

Well, if it will be the same as with OE . . . , this is good news.
I might not have understood what you mean by "put WinMail" into the Internet
zone . . . .
I checked IE under the Security Tab and went through all security
parameters, without finding something about Windows Mail . . .
It surprised me.
Is there a special place where I should have looked ? I have IE 7.

After reading a few posts, I feel this Microsoft newsgroup is excellent to
learn to manage Windows Vista, which I find . . . . slow unfortunately.
Appreciated your prompt reply and thank you.

You're looking at the security tab in the wrong program. Start Windows
Mail, then click Tools in its main window, then Options, then Security,
then click on the circle before Internet zone (Less secure, but more
functional), then Apply, then OK.

How much RAM memory do you have? Many new PCs come with
as little as 512 MB, even though Vista runs slower with this amount.
It runs better with more, such as 2 GB.

Hi La Divine,

Its under Tools | Options | Security in WinMail. You may also have to
adjust settings in IE depending upon the stationery.

Also, in WinMail the stationery directory has moved to the message store
directory, so some stationery won't work unless you put it in that
directory. If you compose a new HTML message in WinMail, then go to View |
Source Edit and click the Source tab and look at the <BASE href and that
will specify the path to the stationery folder.

1) Yes Robert, I had also checked before "Tools" under Windows Mail
Being a big fan of making creative stationeries from greAt scripts,
this is the first place I change.

2) ..... you don't know La Divine, Robert who is following computer
progresses.
It's kind of you to ask and check. It's a HP 3 Go and RAM 400 Go

I thank you for trying to help me.

Hi to you,

Trying to get somewhere in the source part of a stationery in order to see
the BASE href.
I installed Letterman's Copy File Path and I'm stuck there . . .
I get a popup asking which program I wish to use to open my .jpg files. I
have IrfanView.

I get an image, background on IrfanView, but cannot understand why I'm
automatically brought there.
That was different with Outlook Express.
Copy File Path usually copy, with one click, the image or background path in
the source and right now, it does not (it's registered in the Registry).

Right now, I'm at a loss and confused with Windows Mail.
Yesterday, my whole address book (almost 2, 000) was totally displayed
and could not neither click-right or open them.
After turning off the computer, after almost one hour, it came back to
normal.

I will try again later; maybe a Light will bless me . . .
BTW, I don't see MY messages on the newsgroup, just your answers with my
messages on.
Oh la la.
Again, thank you Stephen L. It's good to know you are there for help.

You are posting multiple times. Make sure you don't have antivirus software
set to scan email. See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 (point 3).

For your stationery, do not put it in the old stationery folder location.
You have to put it in the new location under the message store, which is
where the BASE HREF points.

Good morning Steve,

Multiple postings showed up because, every time I clicked on "Send", I had a
message saying "the program does not answer". I have a High Speed cable
connection and always connected.
I tried a few times and decided to quit !!!! I had enough.
Once I came back to WinMail checking "Sent Items", surprisingly I had 4 sent
messages to Microsoft Newsgroup ! I am sorry this happened.

I admit I'm having a lot of difficulties right now not being able to
understand Windows Mail and Vista for stationeries to work. I decided to go
slowl step by step.

1 - Is "WindowsMail.MSMessageStore" the place you're telling me about ? I
see Microsoft basic stationery items.
2 - Bill Scott's "Copy File Path" (great little tool) does not seem to do
the job with WinMail . . . or is it me ?
Without it, I will never get anywhere.
3 - When I want to insert an image, I'm asked with which program I will
open it. I check with Irfanview, then this program shows the image,
(I don't know why) but no way it gets in the email "Source".

I cannot wait to know more and be able to enjoy myself as with OE.
Thanks for your valuable presence.

Hélène
