Font Installation

We're upgrading our hardware platform on a graphics development workstation
which has thousands of fonts which were purchased and installed over the
years. Installing these fonts from the original downloads and source CDs
will take days as the source font files were not archived in a single
location.

Is it possible to take the font files from /windows/fonts/ and install these
on the new hardware or are these files altered or not suitable for
installation purposes?

Thanks,

KC

Simply copy all the *.ttf files from the fonts folder onto a DVD, CD or
other removable drive or copy them across the network to a suitable storage
location (this should be done even if you never plan to upgrade again since
a crash on the system may require all those fonts be reinstalled.) Once
copied to the storage location of choice, simply install or copy them to the
Fonts folder on the new machine where they will be installed automatically
into Windows.

Those fonts that don't copy to the new machine (to install this font you
need to uninstall the old font message) answer no to that message since that
font is already on the machine and included with Windows or other installed
software.
