Folders view in Explore - set auto directory tree display?

Each time I open Explore to find a file, I have to click the Folders button
to get the directory tree on the left-side panel. Is there a way to set a
default so that the window will open with the directory tree already
dsiplayed in the left-side panel?

Several options -

Right click on My Computer and choose Explore
Set up a shortcut to explorer.exe on your desktop

And you can further customize the shortcut as per
