Folders not retaining settings

Has anyone else experienced the following problem? Running Vista Home prem
32 Bit........

I have several Folders that I use to save my Downloaded Files in, Shortcuts
to System Tools a use alot, Folder I use to Place Icons in to keep my Desktop
from looking Clutterer. I open the Folders, go to VIEW select, "Medium
Icons", the appearance changes as it should. I immediately re-open the
Folders the Medium Icons are still displayed. However, hours or days later I
open the Folders and the appearance has returned to the "Detailed" appearnce.
This change has been ongoing for several months, I see the Appearance in the
Folders has changed back to "Details", I change the appearance to "Medium
Icons"...and the appearance eventually changes back to "Details".

Anyone else experience this? Corrected it? How? Thanks

My script will do it all without the user going into the registry.

I reviewed PaulB script....I do not feel all that comfortable about deleting
entries from the Registry (running Vista Home Prem 32bit). Your program,
after Unchecling REMMBER FOLDER SETTING\Appy....it goes it an deletes the
entries outlined in PaulB's Script?

I sure wish there was a better way to correct the problem, it always highly
recommneded never to delete Registy entries

My script works fine! You can use it with no problems.

I tired the SP/2 Preview Beta for Vista and it seems to have fixed this
problem for me and for windows not holding their size.
Hopefully when final it will take care of it.

I am not doubting your script file works.....but if this is true, this is a
Known Microsoft issue, when Microsoft releases an update to correct the
issue....having run the Script and changed Registry entries, etc, the
Microsoft Update may not install, or, it could create other issues.....cause
other conflicts?

You think Microsoft will ever fix this bug?? May be with Windows 7.. I have
Sp2 beta and the bug is still there, but anyway my script will not break
anything.
