Folders being weird?

Today I moved a 2.3gig folder from my D drive to my G
drive. For some odd reason, I didn't gain 2.3gig of space
back from my D drive; in fact, I had the same free space as
before (420MB). I lost 2.3gig of space on my G drive
though. In properties for D drive, it shows that I have 15
folders when it should have been 14 now. I've tried
everything I could think of: moving it back (didn't work, I
didn't have enough space), restarting my computer, deleting
the entire folder altogether.. I don't know what the
problem is, this is the first time something like this
happened on any of my computers. Does anyone have a
solution? Thanks for any and all help.

Hi Christine,

Right-click the drive in Windows Explorer, choose properties. Go to the
tools, run error checking.

Hi, I finally got the chance to run error checking.. It
hasn't done anything, I'm still out 2.3gig & have a
mysterious extra folder. (It's not a hidden folder, I have
hidden files & folders displayed.) Is there something else
I can try? Thanks in advance!
