Christine

I posted this before, the reply I got didn't solve the
problem (thank you anyway, though!) and by the time I could
reply it was on page 30.

A couple days ago I moved a 2.3gig folder from one drive to
another. Space was taken on the new drive (G), but it was
also still taken on the old one (D). In Properties for my D
drive, it stated that I had 14 folders when it should have
been 13 now that I moved 1. It's not a hidden folder, as I
have hidden files and folders displayed. I've tried moving
the folder back, deleting the folder, and Error Checking
the D drive, but it hasn't worked so far. If anyone can
give me a solution, it'd be greatly appreciated.. Thank you!

How EXACTLY did you "move" this folder?

I just did it the simplest way I knew how: cut & paste.
Right click>Cut from drive D, right click>Paste on drive
G. Later when I moved it back I did the same thing, and
when that didn't work either I just deleted it by
highlighting it and hitting the Delete key. I've tried
error checking drive D both with and without
Automatically fixing file system errors and Scanning for
and attempting recovery of bad sectors.

Try right-clicking on the folder, DRAG it to the new location, still holding
down the right mouse button, when a menu will appear with "Move" as an
option.

Think that's normal behaviour for copying from one drive to another - same
happens if you "move" a file to a floppy or a CDRW drive. The original
folder / file stays on the original drive.

What happens if you right-click the folder on D and choose delete?
