Folder Views

I have a large collection (154000 files in 1400 folders)
of photos and would like to view the folders containing
them in Filmstrip mode. I have gone through all folders
and set to this view (a somewhat tedious process!), but
only the last 400 or so retain the setting, and all the
others revert to thumbnails or tiles.

How can I get Explorer to retain view settings for all my
folders, both pictures and others?
