Folder View

I had to reformat my HD and reinstall Windows XP
Professional, now when I open My Computer, or any drive
or folder, it shows the folder view on the left side of
the window, it used to go to the system tasks view before
this. Also how can I get rid of those pop-up ballon tips
on shut down.

Please help!

Perhaps...
Windows Explorer, TOOLS menu|FOLDER OPTIONS|SHOW COMMON TASKS

Also check there, under the VIEW tab. Make your choices and "apply to all..."

Hi,

I did just what you said and it still shows the folder
branch instead of the common tasks.

Any thing else I could do?
