folder thumbnail view no caption of folder name?!

Odd problem. New computer with OEM XP Home. Previously
well, overnight sudden change: Explore a hard drive in
Thumbnail view --> one generated with Thumbnails on
folder icons BUT NO CAPTION of folder names, why??? Any
remedy??

NO CAPTION of file & folder names, right?

Change the view to details. Again, click View (now hold down the shift key), click Thumbnails.
