I have two HDDs C and D.
C has windows and D my files.
Recently I formated my PC and installed XP SP2 again (also have latest
updates)
When I choose a root folder in D, the exporer.exe shows high cpu usage
and the screen hangs for 2-3 seconds.
This did not happen in the previous installation and everything else
works fine in the current installation.

Please Help
Thanks in advance

Did you defrag after the reinstall?

Thanks for the reply!
No, I did not defrag. I have never defraged that particular
HDD/Partition Since I bought it!
Windows XP reports that this partition has low fragmentation and does
not need to be defraged.
The problem did not occur with the previous installation.
