folder options not showing in window explorer

hi guys
i had copied a pdf file from my friends machine to my machine. After that i am not able to see folder options in the tools ofWindowsExplorer. also all my files which were hidden and which i had set as view hidden files in the folder options were not showing now. could it be any virus that my machine has been attacked. In that case i have the latest virus software of AVG Anti Virus installed on my machine. i have scanned my machine but its not showing any virus that has attacked my system. Also in my floppy before i had copied the contents i saw a folder.htt and desktop.ini file. could it be the culprit.

run the online trend micro and norton virus scans and see if they find anything

That is because of a virus named W32/Rontokbro.gen@MM. To remove it you should scan you PC with McAFee Anti Virus.
