Folder Not Valid

I used to be networked at my office and my hard drive crashed. I bought a
new hard drive, but in the interim used my laptop Win XP Home SP2. I simply
plugged in the ethernet cable and when I wanted to view shared folders on the
server I went through the Add Network Place Wizard and had no problem. Now
that I've plugged my desktop back into the network I cannot Add the Network
Place. I have been trying to get all the updates and am still at Win XP Home
SP1. I am trying to solve this too, but is this what's preventing me from
getting to the desired Network Place? Both my desktop and laptop have the
same Norton settings. I keep getting a "Folder Not Valid" error, but I'm
trying to access the same folder as I did on my laptop. Any ideas?

I've seen strange errors like that caused by Norton Internet Security.
Un-install NIS and see if that fixes the file sharing problem. If it
does, try re-installing and re-configuring NIS.

If Norton is the only firewall you have, disconnect from the Internet
while Norton is un-installed.
