Have recently started using WM but every now and then cannot access incoming
or outgoing mail at all - message reads:

"Folder could not be displayed
Windows Mail could not open this folder:

Possible causes are:

Low disk space.

Low memory."

Causes do not make sense.

(os is vista home premium)

Can anyone help!

Thanks

Eds,

I don't know about this one for sure. But I would go to

www.oehelp.com/wmutil

and download Steve's utility to your desktop per his instructions. Then use
the utility, after unzipping, to compact your e-mail. Your problem sounds
similar to one that I had. WMUTIL took care of my problem and hopefully
will yours.

Let me know what happens.

What I did??? I made a research on that e-mail that appear on error message
that couldn't sent on: FIND A MESSAGE, deleted that result of research, and
them OUTBOX finally appeared, and surprise, realy fully.
I think that when I up-dated version 8 to 12, the WLMDesktop installer made
confusion and duplicate this messages on OUTBOX.

Thanks

As much as I'd like to try something new it doesn't really make sense to
abandon a purchased program on a new computer to some beta version of mail.
The version of Windows Mail on a new Vista Business computer should be able
to read messages on a newsreader. I'm getting the same error messages.
Switching to something else would be like buying new tires for the new car
you just bought. Doesn't make sense to me.

Please start your own thread, we have no idea what your problem is from the
slight rant that you provide?

I see that you tagged onto a message from June 2007.

Please provide as much detail about your problem, include verbatim error
messages etc.

Sorry Mac, thought I was following Eds post (pasted below) and all would see
it. Eds getting the same message I'm getting when trying to access the
newsgroups (which I've done forever from outlook express). My mail is OK. I
simply cut & pasted the error message and that's where it took me. Gary's
response was to try a different program instead of fixing what's there. Yes,
that was my rant because the solution doesn't fix the problem.

You are quoting a very old message. Much has changed since then.
Windows Live Mail came out of beta and was released in November
of last year. It has become apparent that Microsoft has dropped all
development of Windows Mail, so there is not much point in continuing
with it. Windows Live Mail is free, so it is not like buying new tires for
a new car. More like exchanging factory defective tires for newly
improved ones.
Get your upgrade to Windows Live Mail here:
