Folder list not expanding when new mail received in Outlook 2002

I just installed Office XP onto a new laptop. I then copied my
'outlook.pst' from my desktop to my laptop. I fixed all the rules to move
messages to specific folders upon receipt. A glitch, at least in Outlook
2002,
loses the specified folder to which a new message is moved when a rule is
applied. Everything else seems to work fairly well. However, Outlook always
expanded the folder tree to a folder automatically when a message was moved
to it on my desktop. On my laptop, the folders are not expanded
automatically so I just leave them all open. It's very inconvient as I have
well over a hundred folders.
