Folder and File names changed to blue

I have noticed that, in \Windows, Update Uninstaller folder titles are
in blue, but now lots of other files and folder titles have also
changed from black to blue - and not just in Windows. Is there any
significance in this behaviour, please?

It's set (and is) compressing unused files.

when you do a disk clean up XP compresses some files that have a long time
to be accessed to save some space. Compressed files and folders have a blue
color.
They finction normally and there is no reason to worry about it.

Thanks, Shenan and John. It is a relief to know that all is well,
although I cannot understand why one little graphic has changed to
blue while another, absolutely identical graphic, has not.

its ACCESSED DATE must be different. One must have been accessed
(opened or viewed) more recently than the other

the disk clean up compresses only the old files that have not been accessed
in some time....
And this is logical.. since files that are not used for months could be
compressed.

To see details about when a file has been created, modified, or accessed you
right click on the file and then go to properties

Take a look at this screencapture:

see if that is the case. Have in mind that if you opened the files to see
them
the accessed date will have been renewed! :-D

But I would be curious to know if they do indeed have a different date.

By design, WinXP automatically compresses files that do not get
used frequently, and, if you've left the default settings intact,
displays those file names in blue.

If you wish to change this behavior, in Windows Explorer, click
Tools > Folder Options > View > Advanced settings: Show encrypted or
compressed NTFS files in color.

Thanks for the posts guys!
I just spent more than 30 minutes trying to find out why my files were in
blue and black. Thanks to your posts now I know!
So compressed files are not compromised in anyway?
