How can I stop windows explorer from expanding a folder
that has subfolders when I open the main folder? I know
there must be a way....I just can't find it.
Thanks

Hi, open any folder and click on Tools and then Folder Options. You will
find all of your choices under the General Tab. Make sure than "Open each
folder in the same window" is checked.

I believe I may have not properly communicated my problem
so I'll try rephrasing it. I know about folder options
and how folders are viewed, but my particular issue is
that in the left pane (one with all the main folders)
let's say I have a folder called "Graphics" and it has a
plus sign by it indicating that there are several
subfolders under it. What I want to be able to do is to
click the folder icon, without the entire left pane
expanding to show all the child folders. I've been to
other forums and have found no one with a solution.
Microsoft does not answer my emails, so I would deeply
appreciate any help on this issue. Surely MS provided a
way to lock the main folder if one so desires.
