Floppy showing as "RAW" file system...won't read

I need help getting a floppy that chkdsk says is RAW filesystem to
read within Windows 2000 Professional. If I access the floppy from
the command prompt, I get this error:

The volume does not contain a recognized file system.
Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and
that the v
olume is not corrupted.

If I do chkdsk, I get this message:

The type of File System is RAW
CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives

Is that really a FAT formatted floppy? Can you read other floppies on
this machine? Is it readable on other Windows machines?

If chkdsk is showing the file system as RAW then the master boot sector is
corrupted. Since the floppy had to have been formatted in FAT then there
is no backup of the master boot sector. The disk is unrecoverable.

Yes, or indicates a filesystem for which a filesystem driver is not loaded.

Well, the floppy may have another filesystem from another operating
system. In that case, chkdsk will also give this error and then the data
may be recoverable.
