Floppy light

Hi,
I have an issue with Windows XP pro, my floppy light
comes on for about 5 seconds after loading all the
desktop icons but just before windows boots completely, I
have tried the bios, and the settings in norton to makes
sure that all those options are disabled
cannot find any posting that will help me find out the
reason why the light comes on and stays on for about 5
seconds, my floppy works fine. but this delay is annoying
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I believe that your floppy is doing a self check, and is

5 seconds really that long? there are 84,600 seconds in a
day
