Floppy drive wont format

Am running 2K Pro. Am trying to make boot disk. Windows
wont let me format the disk. I am choosing the format
option with a right click on A:. The drive works fine
reading other disks, but wont format any floppy disk.

Boot the machine to Safe Mode and try to format the diskette. If it fails
again, you may have a defective drive. If you have a spare, swap it in and
test formatting a diskette.
