floppy drive disk

the floppy it use to work in another computer ,i put it in another computer
but the system is not reading it. what it can cause that?
 
Edwin, make sure that you connected the Floppy Drive correctly. Look for
bent pins.
 
One more thing I thought of. Take a look in the computers Bios. Make
sure that you have the floppy drive enabled.
 
If you are referring to a floppy disk (not the drive unit it self, your
question is a bit unclear), then your best bet is to put the disk back into
a PC it was readable on, get the data over to the XP box by some other means
(network, email attachment, burn to CD, USB thumb drive....)

XP does not play well with all floppy drives, or with disks not formatted on
the XP box to begin with.

It's time to learn to live without floppies - they're too small and
unreliable any more.
