Hi,

I need to install XP to a computer without a floppy driver.
The problem is that I have a SATA card that the XP CD requires a floppy disk
with the driver in the A: drive.
But... I don't have a floppy drive in my computer.

So, I burn the driver to a CD and when XP askes for the floppy disk (F6), I
put the CD in the C: drive but that doesn't work.

Would you guy show me how to do it please? Thanks!!!

The only thing I can suggest is to buy an external Floppy drive ( or
internal if you have an open bay)..fairly cheap these days.

Then you will need to install a floppy, either a USB floppy - this is a
useful thing to have, *if* the system will recognise a USB floppy at boot -
or install, even temporarily, a regular floppy. I have paid abut CDN$35
for a USB floppy drive, and about CDN$15 for a regular floppy.

If you have access to another computer with a CD burner and internet
access you could slipstream the drivers into a new XP install disk so
that F6 and a floppy with drivers is no longer needed. If the original
XP disk is pre-sp2 you can add sp2 and any updates to the new install
disk while you are at it. The sites and software below are mainly
concerned with adding sp2 but don't be put off as adding drivers is also
discussed.
