I have a floppy disk that has inportent info on it. But

Windows XP definitely has issues with some floppy disks.
Try this.
1) Format a new floppy disk in the computer you're having problems with.
2) Take the floppy disk you need the information off of to one of the
computers you know will read it. Copy all of the files from that floppy to a
folder on the hard drive.
3) Lastly copy the files from the hard drive to the new floppy disk you
formatted in the "problem computer." It should now be readable in the
"problem" computer.
If you're unfamiliar with any of those operations, instructions are
available through Windows Help.
