Turned on the mixer tap earlier & a massive explosion of water!
Flooded the kitchen & then found stop cock.
Now waiting on emergency plumber to turn up via waterboard insurance.

Glad i had a shower earlier!:p
And it's mild as we cant have any hot water for a few hours!!!

Funny how you forget where the stop cock is until half the house has been flooded

Problem is because the stopcock hardly ever gets used theres always a good chance its seized solid when you really need to use it..
I always make a habit of turning the stopcock on and off nowadays when I go into the garage, just to keep things nice and loose and working tickety boo..Only takes 5 seconds! :D

Hope you sort it all ok Feckit..

Hope it's all fixed now Feckit.

A few years ago, a plumber fixed a device to our kitchen water-pipes (which supply the mixer taps.) Now, it just needs a screwdriver to turn off the water just at that point (for maintenance, etc.) Useful, not having to use the main stopcock in the bathroom to shut-off the whole supply. :thumb:

New mixer tap bought just waiting on plumber to fit it.
And fitting it is not covered by our policy & will cost £95 an hour!!
No cup of tea/coffee for the person while they are here!!!!!

It's a good idea to have a shut off valve in every pipe that feeds taps, washing machines, loos etc. As TC says it's very easy to close off the water to one area and keep the rest open.

Worth thinking of asking your plumber to do it while the water is off at the stopcock. :)
