How do I uninstall a shortcut that was somehow installed with a toolbar (I
got rid of the ie toolbar)??? The alert keeps comming up that I have spyware
and addware etc... then reguardless of wich I click, left or right mouse
button, a window telling me to download a removal program pops up. I cannot
figure out how to remove it. PLEASE HELP ME. ...it is in my taskbar (with
warning popups).

You didn't mention the name of the "removal" program being advertised, but
I'm sure it's scam to sell some useless rogue product rather than a real
alert. Go to this page and see if the removal procedure is documented.
That's the best way to rid yourself of this problem, using specialized
tools rather than a generalized Anti-Spyware program like Defender:

Try running Adaware as a start and then see if you can remove the shortcut if
still there.

Further to Dave M`and Chris Mac. Are you running WD? OR any AS program? I
would suggest rebooting into `safe mode` (a start or reboot while
continuously tapping pressing the F8 key) and then running your AS progs if
present. Make two or three runs until they come up clean and then reboot into
normal mode. Ccleaner is also a good `low intensive` cleaner which I would
also recommend running before using your AS prog.

Good luck and let us know how it works out..............

If you visit any cartoon,ani/heni site for any reason when asked to download
activ-x control to view because your pc won't be able to, don't!, it won't be
but 3 days later a 'heat' software will 'pop' up to sell. they give their
tactic away,
go to free downloads at wds. or msn, check your pop-up allowed settings
remove what's not a www or http that you don't know, check add-ons same way.
after go to add/remove program and remove 'heat',may have to remove a few
times between cleanings. I agree, to pay for a small remover/reg. repair,
every pc gets slow after many site visits the reg. gets corupted by our
mistakes. 'NOT' the one adverised, get free 'live', msn or wds. or their
approved pay site.
