Does anyone know how to remove annoying system alert popup? A trojan
horse-download-zlob via an email automatically installed a program from
http://www.virusprotectpro.com/?aff=1012 and shortcut on system. Uninstalled
program and removed shortcut however icon in system tray constanly pops up
and interrupts work. It is attempting to get me to download program from site
that I don't need already have security program but pop up constant.

Try scanning your system with updated antivirus on safe mode....

1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Taps:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.

Download the Hijackthis and send the report to one of

forums for analysis and troubleshooting:
When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. Post
your log to http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30,
http://castlecops.com/forum67.html,
http://forums.subratam.org/index.php?showforum=7, or other appropriate
forums for expert analysis, not here.

THIS IS INCREDIBLE...IVE COPIED ALL INSTRUCTIONS FROM THIS THREAD BUT STILL
CANNOT GET RID OF THIS POS.

HAS ANYONE HAD ANY SUCCESS ???????????????????????/

thanks david..the caps are off...
considering my personal optical system is not as efficient as your, this
makes it a lot more difficult for me to see but ill manage... secondly i
thought caps were for shouting...which is exactly what i was doing.


in any case..i did fix the problem. following all the links from bree's
posting the only one that cleared up the virusprotectpro was bitdefender.

btw its quite a nice and easy program and it picks up stuff that spysweeper
w/virus and Advance Windows cAre ver 2 did not.

thank g-d its not popping up anymore....
