Flash Player problem with IE7

When I go to the Flash player page and load the software it says that
it is working correctly in IE7 but certain pages that use Flash don't
work and tell me to install Flash. If I use Firefox to display the
same page everything works correctly. I must be missing an option
setting or something. BTW, I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 bit.

Please ensure javascript is enabled in your browser and that Flash
Player 8 or above is installed.

Works fine for me. I assume that you already have Flash Player 8 installed
so maybe you need to download the latest edition of Java :
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
Uninstall any older versions.
Also go to IE7 Tools/Internet Options/Advanced and make sure the Java entry
is checked.

Just realised that Flash Player has been updated to 9.0.47.0 plus there is
Shockwave Player too - kill two birds with one stone here:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/
That page will test for both and offer the latest download for both.

JavaScript is a commonly used Internet programming language which enables
websites to provide additional features; for example, the positioning and
the displaying of certain objects, providing drop down menus, Flash Player
detection, and validating form fields. It's a function built-in to Windows.
Sun's Java Runtime is not the same thing.
