I've just installed Vista Home Premium--full version, clean install not an
upgrade--and something has come up which has me baffled. After installing
all my usual programs--Office 2007, Adobe Acrobat 8, Zinio Reader, Repligo,
Mobipocket and I've tried both AVG and Avast for anti virus as I thought one
of them might be the problem--but there seems to be a problem with IE7...I
go to a web site which requires flash and get the prompt that I need to
install flash player and I do. It shows that it's installed when I check
the control panel but when I re-open IE7 and go to the site, I still get the
prompt that I need to install flash player. I've tried uninstalling and
reinstalling with both of the aforementioned AV programs, with them turned
off, and have tried downloading the flash player in zipped format and
installing it with IE7 closed.
The bottom line is, I'm out of neophyte guesses as I think I've tried every
conceivable method to make it work. So, I'm posting here as there doesn't
seem to be an English IE7 specific group. I've listed all of my installed
programs just in case there's some sort of conflict with one of them. I
should mention all of these worked just fine with IE7 when I was running XP.
Any thoughts, anyone?
Thanks,
Tim
