flash media player refuses to download

I have run into a problem getting flashmedia player to download onto my computer. when a websight needs to use it it always sends me to the websight to get flashmedia ipress the dowmload button and nothing happeens getting fairly frustrating. i have even turned my internet security settings off and still no luck. I have xp home edition with sbc yahoo dsl connection internet explorer v6.
any help appreciated.
 
The Popup blocker or something like that may be working hard to stop you
from installing the file.

Have you gone to this site?

You need to be logged as administrator.
