Flagging a contract

If you flag a contract in OL2003 and enter a "due by"
date and time, does this action set a reminder for the
follow-up. This works when the flag is set on a message,
but it does not seem to work when the flag is set on a
contact. Has anyone seen this behavior? Is there a fix?
