Flagged info - how to get date/time to print?

S

StargateFan

I use the completed box in the flag along with the description when
I'm closing an issue that has been tracked throughout via email.

In the past, in other places I've worked, the date and time will also
be printed, not just the flag and flag status. I noticed in one other
contract that the defaults somehow were set so that date/time didn't
appear and in this current contract, same thing.

This current job, though, is all about tracking BFs, though, and so I
cannot afford not to have the date/time the flag info was completed
printed out. Does anyone know how to change it so that O2K _does_
print out the complete info including date/time flag was completed??

Thank you.

Please, can anyone help. I really, really need to get the completed
flags date/time to print as well and I just can't find anything. Pls,
pls someone respond. This isn't the first time I've asked this
question. This is the 3rd time, and no-one responds.

Thanks so much in advance.

Probably no one responds since no one can get it to work, does not know the
answer, or is busy having a meal or a quick game of catch with their kids.

This is a peer help group and everyone here (except for the occasional MSFT
employee, who is also donating their personal time) is a volunteer.

I wish there was a way, then, to explain the issue better. ...

I get sent to many jobs in any given year (I do contract work). The
O2K variations between all these installations have always been very
interesting, but usu. they don't interfere with the actual work as one
adapts within a few moments; but this lack is a very serious one.

Try it, if you would. Open an email and open a flag for it. Type in
something like, oh I don't know, this: "DG signed late aft
Feb.02.2005, doct sent to VP's office Feb.03. VP approved. BF closed
just now" and then click the "completed" checkbox button in the flag
box.

At the top of the email you now have in the status box the above blurb
but _also_ a date/time which is automatically generated upon closing
the flag box. _If_ you're lucky, when you print that out, in the flag
status area of the printed page, you'll see the above and you'll see
"completed" but you will _also_ get the date/time. If that's the
case, staple to top of ministerial correspondence and file in the
completed BFs folder. That's my job here, BFs. And I have about
dozens and dozens of ongoing BFs daily, it seems, with 5 or more being
completed on any given day.

Anyway, _MOST_ of the time that date/time is printed out. Most of the
time. "Completing" a flag generates the date/time electronically at
the top as a default, I've never seen this not happen - but NOT in the
printout. Sometimes that date/time prints. Sometimes not.

I really, really need to know where the setting to control this is. I
must turn it on. It's there somewhere because most contracts have
this info print out. My only other alternative would be to email
myself this file with the comments just so I'd have a time stamp?!!!
God, I hate to think of the mess, esp. when trying to get that sent
email back to the right folder (out of the dozens of emails and all
the folders I deal with) and to make sure I don't delete the wrong
original of it! So much more simple to just use the flag system in
the unique way outlined above _IF_ I can just get the date/time stamp
to print consistently.

Thanks.

Can someone pls, pls tell me where I can go to get this info? Is this
O2K or OS-related. The Win2K people say it's O2K, but if I can't find
where the setting is affected, and no-one here has responded in last
10 months re this (I've posted 3 times re this issue as it's so
important), then I need to know where to go for info. Help file in
O2K, internet and various searches through O2K settings have revealed
nothing to me, personally. Someone, somewhere, knows how to get this
setting to come on. I need to know how to get in touch with people
knowledgeable enough to know this.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate any help in advance.
