flag messages for follow up with an alert reminder

I have a suggestion for a feature improvement in Outlook. Frequently, I get
emails from customers that require follow up. I average 150 to 200 emails a
day. If I use a flag, I don't get any sort of alert when the time comes for
follow up. I have to physically SEE the flag to get the reminder to follow
up. My suggestion would be to add an alert option on the flags so we could
get something similar to a task reminder or appointment reminder that pops up
on the designated day at the designated time. I would upgrade my Outlook
just to have that one extra feature.

If the emails are kept in the Inbox you will see a reminder for those items.
In folders other than the default Inbox, Calendar, Tasks and Contacts items
with reminders only turn red when due. You can also use a 3rd party addin to
fire reminders in additional folders for emails other than the Inbox.

Thanks for the suggestion. Where would I get 3rd party addins to fire
reminders in additional folders? I use the rules to automatically send
emails from particular customers into their assigned folder. I have a folder
for each company that is a customer and sub folders for each contact. Moving
the emails to the inbox just so I can get my reminder would be more of a
hassle with the volume of emails I get.

Maybe you can help me. I use to get alerts to pop-up on my screen when a
flag was due. I don't now. I have gone to Tools and checked the Reminder
box " Display the Reminder" but this hasn't helped.
