Fixing postion of desktop icons

Even after activating "Locking icons on desktop", my
desktop icons are rearranged after restarting Windows XP.
What is odd is that for one second the icons are in the
positions that I established before the Windows restart,
then the icons snap 3/4 of an inch away from the bottom and
right sides of the desktop. Is there a way that I can
prevent the rearrangement from happening?

Chuck, you have to uncheck Auto arrange and Align to Grid. The only 2
checks should be to Show and Lock your Icons.
