Firmware probs..

Having trouble to get my NEC ND6500A to accept Maxell´s DVD-R discs. This
should be helped by updating the firmware accordingly to Maxells support.
My prob. is that the burner was installed in a package. According to NEC´s
homepage the firmwareupdates can only be used if you have bought the burner
seperately.
Have tried to autoupdate the files using the hardwaremanager without any
luck. "no new updates availible"
Anyone have any suggestions?

You can't update firmware through the Device Manager which I presume is what
you are referring to when you use the word hardwaremanager. It doesn't
matter if you purchased the burner already installed in a PC or whether it
was purchased separately.

The instructions are at:
http://support.necam.com/optical/downloads/flashfirmware/readme.asp?ID=10
and you must click that you have read and understood them before they'll
give you the link for the firmware.
