Firewire--IEEE1394

XP is supposed to recognize firewire--will mine doesn't.
I use firewire to download from a digital movie camera.
XP sees the PCI card but says it has no drivers for it.

Thanks,
Floyd

If you have some commercially made computer, the OEM may
have left the IEEE 1394 drivers out because they did not
supply a Firewire port.

With the card installed, use device manager to update the
driver and be sure to do an Internet search for the "best"
driver.

Hi, Floyd!
I believe you need SP1 for complete Firewire support.

Robert, Jim,

Nothing seems to work--even re-installed SP1.
Any other suggestions???

Thanks,
Floyd

Hi, Floyd!
Maybe your PCI card is unsupported by XP.
Did you have a look at the PCI card manufacturer's site for
XP-compatible drivers?

Hi, again!
Is your PCI card recognized by your BIOS?
