Firewire card

I have just installed a fire wire card into a pci slot. The pc has picked
nothing up!!! Not even showing under device manager!!!

Anyone got any ideas at all??

Hi,

Check the system BIOS to see if that pci slot is enabled.
Try reseating the card as well.

Cheers Rick,

I have checked the BIOS and all the pci settings are set to auto. tried
reseating as well (many times) but still no joy.

Still need help !!!!!!!!!!!!

there is a sneaky option in BIOS:

reset configuration data

try setting it to `on`
and try playing with `pnp-OS` setting
also there is a very short moment of time between POST test and OS boot when
the screen displays all PCI devices computer has (at least such screen is in
most award bios'es) paste all information from there

The card could be defective, too
