"FireWire" Card shows up twice in Device Manager

Hello.

I recently installed an "NEC PCI IEEE 1394 ADAPTOR" into my
W2000 Professional P.C.

W2000 detected it but lists it twice!!

Listing 1:
matches the Manufacturer's description of how it should
appear in device Manager --- i.e. "NEC Firewarden OHCI
Computer IEEE 1394 Host Controller"

Listing 2:
Seems to be the default w2000 description of the card.

This latter listing I disabled.

Can anyone explain why the card might show up twice and what
I can do to eliminate the second listing and keep W2000
happy at the same time.

(I might as well add that I have NOT tested the card. This
is because I possess only one device which can use it
(Digital Video Camera) and the wife has taken it away on
holidays with her.)

Thanks.

:> Is that "default description" look like a network adapter?

Hi pavel.

Firstly, a correction to my posting. The device lists
(correctly) as a "NEC OHCI COMPLIANT IEEE 1394 HOST
CONTROLLER" in the first listing

and the second listing is:

"OHCI COMPLIANT IEEE 1394 HOST CONTROLLER"

This is the listing I assume is the default one.

It is actually now marked with the exclamation mark on the
yellow background and "Device Manager" says "This device
cannot start. Code 10".

Location PCI Bus 0, device 1, function 6

I not only do not want it to start, I want it gone.

The first (and correct listing) appears O.K.

Location 2 (PCI Bus 0, device 11, function 0)

I hope this information may help you (and/or others) to
assist me.

Regards,

__ Rod.
