Firewall stopping Windows Update!!! HELP

Hi, I am a newbie!! We have a firewall to restric
employees from surfing the web. We are in a work group
enviroment w/out a server. Is their a way for the pc to
be able to stay up to date w/windows updates w/out
allowing users access to the WEB.

No, I don't believe so since it uses http in order to
access the windows update site.

You could however use the SUS package to allow just the
one server to download updates and then your computers
would get them from your internal server.

Look up SUS on microsoft's site for information on
deployment and use.
