Hey Malcolm, I have been using it for over a year now. It's fast,
reliable with heaps of 'plugins'. Have not been hijacked once from all
the seedy sites that i visit :) YOu will however need IE for any updates
to your pc in the future. Good luck.

FF and its Mozilla cousins are cutting-edge browsers, with features
lacking in I.E. That's not to say that they do not have vulnerabilities,
but because I.E. is dominant it is the primary target of foolishness.

Try it. Won't hurt ... from http://mozilla.org.

Yes

Yes

Are you happy???
No.

1) When I open Firefox two blank windows open.

2) When I open a PDF I get a blank screen. Yes, Adobe Acrobat IS
installed.

There are a number other minor annoyances.

Cheers,

Cliff

Been using Firefox with XP since 0.8 I believe. I've also used Mozilla and
Opera. Firefox is THE browser to use, as far as I'm concerned. It gets
high marks from me as well as the "pundits". No, no problems whatsoever.
There are a few (a very few) pages that don't render properly in Firefox,
and you still need IE for updates and those pages, but that's all. I'm
completely satisfied.

Hi

It's fine here too.

For problems etc try alt.fan.mozilla

The PDF problem is well-known.

Firefox sometimes opens the PDF pages, sometimes it doesn't. It all
seems to depend on how much memory the PC is using for other tasks.

Some have observed that Acrobat Reader 6 is less successfully used
than v.5. I don't know.

I'm in the UK and I find that there are certain sites that can only
really be used by IE.

The Tesco BANKING site is one (although, curiously the NatWest Bank
and First Direct sites function in Mozilla.

Also I find a huge problem in locating images in the equivalent of the
"Temporary Internet Folder"

Hope that helps.

Hello World

Cliff;
Must be operator failure. Firefox works fine when installed properly.
Try reinstalling it.

I had this problem with IE6 on an older PC. I eventually concluded that
Adobe Reader failed when PC resources were too limited.

Adobe Reader 6 uses more resources than v5.

Happened a little with 0.9. Happens all the time with 1.0

I don't think it's "operator error". There's not much intervention
when it is installed, is there?!?

Cheers,

Cliff
