works very well. as far as i can tell. i should open HOSTS in text editor to confirm that
Hostess *has* properly eradicated/merged duplicates.

Hostess remembers the folder where you regularly download updated HOSTS. after
downloading updated HOSTS, start Hostess and use the import function with merge
settings. you're done.

proxo most needs a better dummy test dialog for user's
filter testing.

currently, when you get the filter correctly, proxo's
dialog shows what happened. when you get the filter wrong,
the diaog gives no hnits as to what went wrong. grrrrrrrr



someone else offers an attempt at a "happy interface" for
proxo (not sure why it needs that).

What should Proxo and/or some other interface display? I do get
annoyed, too, when the filter does not do what I want it to do.
But, as long as the regex syntax is correct, how could a s/w
"read my mind?"

There are some prog's w/ helpful regex debugs. Unfortunately,
there's no one regex "standard" (never mind what would those
debugs do w/Proxo's $FOO()s").

PITA as it might be, it's a small price to pay for the result
once one is finished w/ debugging. ;)
