This may not be the right forum for this basic question but I will ask it
anyway hoping to get a reply or a redirection.

" While in Outlook Express/Tools/Newsgroups, how do you expand the titles of
the hundreds of Windows newsgroups that appear so that you can go directly
to the ones of interest."

In the listing, they are all abreviated as "Microsoft.Public.Win9..",
Mirosoft.Public.wind.." etc. Unless you fall on the right one by chance, it
takes time to bring each one to the screen just to see what its full title
is.
There must be a more descriptive list somewhere but I can't find it.

Thanks for any help.

Move the Description column to the right with your mouse or expand the
Newsgroups window open more from clicking on the lower right corner and drag
the window out more.

At the top of the newsgroup list, there is a header bar that may say Newsgroups and Description. Mouse-over the little vertical divider and drag it to the right to expand the Newsgroups column.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for the three quick replies. Expanding the window at the vertical
divider between newsgroup and description does the trick.

I now see a full description of every newsgroup
